Hi Carys. Jon’s Dad here. I have read your letter published in the Globe and Mail. It is indeed a very thought provoking, poignant piece of writing. Reading it twice, three times it evoked many emotions within me. I have not experienced such an event. An event that impacted so hugely upon you; dreadfully, tragically and continues to do so. Reading and comprehending what you are saying in your letter I guess a heavy weight is at last being lifted off and out of your mind… I did appreciate the piece in your letter: “Surrounded by people chatting, music playing and the aroma of ground coffee beans and baked goods, I took a breath and felt life moving forward.” It’s not a final chapter in a lifes’ book is it..? it is the start of a new page. Take care. Keep safe. Jon’s dad.
